Planning for Milton Culture Days 2016 is in full gear! Both new and past participants are signing up to be Activity Organizers at the October 1-2 Culture Days held at the Milton Centre for the Arts Hub.
One of Milton’s long-time participants are the Milton Choristers, who sing fan favourites from atop the balcony at the Centre. Let’s get to know more about the Choir!
Judy Hunter, an accomplished local musician, founded the choir in 1968. Originally a women’s choir called the Chansonettes, the choir evolved into the Milton Choristers to include all voice ranges with approximately 40 singers. The choir’s repertoire includes both classical and contemporary music and maintains a high performance standard as well as a strong sense of camaraderie.
The Choristers are an auditioned, 4 part community choir who have entertained audiences in Halton Region and beyond for more than 45 years. With approximately 50 members, they perform three concerts annually, often including premier guest soloists and musicians. Their wide ranging musical repertoire includes classical, contemporary, sacred and secular. From Bach and Rachmaninoff to Elvis and Abba – they do it all!
