Culture Days

Culture Days is an annual three-day, nationwide celebration that takes place each September. It invites Canadians to “create, participate and share” in art and culture in their communities.

Thank-you to all 60+ Activity Organizers and all 4000 visitors for your participation in Milton Culture Days 2016! This year, Culture Days will take place Sept 29, 30, and Oct 1, 2017 at the Milton Centre for the Arts. We are now accepting proposals for Activity’s hosted by individual artists, groups, organizations and businesses.  Email your ideas to Kaitlyn Patience, Arts Milton Coordinator at info@artsmilton.com or visit our contact page.

Take a peek at the previous schedule of events, and view photos from last year’s activities here, and on our Facebook page.

Since 2012, Arts Milton has hosted a Culture Days Hub at the Milton Centre for the Arts with over 50 free activities presented by over 100 local artists and performers. Music, dance, theatre, visual arts, literary arts, and culinary arts are all on offer during the Culture Days weekend. Each session has a participatory component, so everyone is invited to try something new.

Culture Days has been a big success in Milton for the last four years! In fact, Milton has been ranked in the national top 10 of regional and belt cities for the number of activities presented! We have been in very good company – many larger cities such as Mississauga and Richmond, B.C. – as well as rich cultural centres like Stratford, join us in the top 10.

In 2014, Arts Milton and Milton Home Depot won the Culture Days Business Visionary Award at the Culture Days National Congress in Edmonton, AB, for their work on two community art projects, which are now on permanent display at the Milton Centre for the Arts.
