For Culture Days 2016, we will be joined by Shaima Hasan of Hatheli Henna, a professional Henna artist based in Milton.
Henna speaks all languages. Its roots are centuries old, and its practices, symbolism and traditions have been passed down through the ages. Mehndi is the Hindi word describing the process of painting patterns on the body with 100% natural henna paste and the resulting stains left on the skin last for over a week.
Mehndi is celebratory and often used for the beautification of one’s body. Any celebration or party may include mehndi. Often, it is the reason for a gathering.
Shaima has been practicing the intricate art of Mehndi for over 12 years, and will be offering free designs to Culture Days visitors!
